Genesis 10:1-32

Hello and welcome back...Today we read Genesis 10:1-32

We learned alot about the genealogy of the sons of Noah...

These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations; and out of these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood.

Genesis 10 was important because it showed how the nations were separated on the earth after the flood...It seams sometimes like were reading and reading and it is very hard to get through but without the genealogies we could not trace people back to Noah and from Adam and Eve to Noah etc..We were also introduced to "babel"...We will be learning more about Bable tomorrow... I am very proud of you for getting through the reading today.

Tomorrow we will be reading Genesis 11:1-32 Until then...have a blessed day.

Genesis 9:1-29

Hello and welcome back...Today we read through genesis 9:1-29. We learned that the fear of man would be on every living animal...

2"The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given.

We also learned that the Lord made a covenant with Noah and every living creature that when they see a cloud and fear rain they would know by a rainbow that there would never be again be a flood to destroy the earth.

We also learned ... 18Now the sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem and Ham and Japheth; and Ham was the father of Canaan. Canaan came upon Noah who was sleeping in his tent...Naked from drinking too much wine...he told the others...

23But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon both their shoulders and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father's nakedness.

24When Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him.
25So he said,
"Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brothers."
26He also said,
"Blessed be the LORD,
The God of Shem;
And let Canaan be his servant.
27"May God enlarge Japheth,
And let him dwell in the tents of Shem;
And let Canaan be his servant."

Noah lived to be 950 years old...(man that's old)
and then he died.

I was thinking about today's reading and the rainbow...can you imagine the fear of those who were on the ark...every time it started raining they must have been scared to death...The Lord knew this and sent the rainbow so they would not be afraid...Is there something the Lord has sent you so you would not be afraid?

Please join in with me again tomorrow when we read through Genesis 10:1-32

Until then...Be watching for those rainbows...

Genesis 8:1-22

Good Morning...Welcome back. Today we read Genesis 8:1-22 We learned that Noah was on the ark for quite a while. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights and the water started decreasing after 150 days. We also learned that the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat.

We learned that by the 10th month the tops of the mountains became visible. Noah sent out a raven that flew here and there but showed him that it was not dry enough yet. Noah then sent out a dove...but the dove could find no resting place so she returned. We learned that Noah waited 7 more days and sent out the dove again...and in the evening she returned with an olive branch in it's beak...Noah waited another 7 days and sent out the dove again. She did not return.

Noah removed the covering and the earth was dried up. We learned then that the Lord spoke to Noah...Be fruitful and multiply. When Noah and his family and the animals came out Noah built unto the Lord an altar and gave burnt offerings to the Lord.

21The LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.

22"While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And summer and winter,
And day and night
Shall not cease."

I find it interesting that the dove brought back an olive branch...As we go along we learn that there are many verses repeated and many references to "blood sacrifices" and "offerings" etc...It is by no mistake that things are repeated and we should sit up and take notice when we notice a pattern. Noah was in that ark with his family for about a year...can you only imagine that?

Thank you for reading the Lord's word with me again today...Please join me in reading Genesis 9:1-29

Genesis 7:1-24

Good day and welcome back...Today we read Genesis 7:1-24. We learned more about Noah and his family. We learned that Noah was to get 2 of every kind of animal, clean and unclean and get into the ark he had built...And the Lord said to him ..in verse 4 "For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made." Noah did what the Lord had commanded him.

11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.
12The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

We learned that the rain fell and the ark was lifted up. We also learned that every living thing died except those who lived on the ark. We also learned that the water prevailed on the earth for 150 days.

Arg! Can you just imagine being confined with a ark full of animals...like a Zoo...if the noise didn't kill ya I bet the smell would. And Noah was 600 years old...taking care of his family and the animals...what a task that must have been...
Tomorrow's reading is about the flood subsiding...please join in with me tomorrow as we read Genesis 8:1-22
Until then...Have a blessed day today.

Genesis 6:1-22

Hello and welcome back...Today we read Genesis 6:1-22. We learned about Noah. We learned how the earth became corrupt and we learned that the Lord was going to destroy all that he had made. We also learned that the Lord had favor on Noah and decided to spare him and his family.

The Lord told Noah to build an ark and told him how and what to build it with. He also told him to gather two of every kind of animal, male and female along with his family and food for all.

Now can you just picture this scene...a very old man,we learned earlier that Noah was 500 yrs old when he had his sons...So how old do you think he could have been when his sons were grown with wives of their own? He must have looked like a mad man...remembering also that this world they lived in was corrupt...I don't think they were nice to Noah for following what the Lord had commanded.

I'm hoping you will join me again tomorrow when we read Genesis 7:1-24
Until then,
Blessings and have a great day.

Genesis 5:1-32

Hello and welcome back...I hope you had a wonderful Sunday. Today we read through Genesis 5:1-32.

Today we learned about genealogy. How the generations got from Adam and Eve all the way down to Noah. And when Noah was born his father said "This one will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands arising from the ground which the LORD has cursed."

I am always surprised in how long the men lived back then...750 yrs. and Adam who lived 930 yrs. wow can you imagine living that long Adam was over 130 yrs old when he had Seth wow. Noah himself was 500 years old when he had his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Thank you for joining me in today's reading...please join me tomorrow when we read Genesis 6:1-22
Until then...

Genesis 4:1-26

Hello and welcome back...Today we read about Cain and Able.

Adam and Eve's sons. Cain a tiller of the ground. Able a keeper of sheep. They both brought offerings to the Lord but the Lord had no regard for Cain's offering of the fruit of the ground. Able gave the first of his flock for his offering as well as the fat and the Lord had high regard for it...So Cain's countenance fell.

The Lord asked why his countenance had fallen and why he was so angry. He told him if he did well his countenance would be lifted up and if he did not do well sin would be crouching at the door. Cain told his brother this...and then he killed him.

The Lord called him on this and Cain lied and said he was not his brother's keeper. The Lord punished him.

He was sent to be a vagrant and a wanderer of the earth...he was afraid someone would kill him...so the Lord told him that whosoever killed him vengeance would come on him 7 fold.

He then settled outside of Eden and went on to have a family.

Adam went on to have another son...Seth (eve said God had appointed her another son to replace Able.)

Seth also had a son and they called upon the name of the Lord.

I find this all amayzing...Through all this...They called upon the name of the Lord...Do we do that? Or do we let our countenance fall when bad things happen?...Do we let sin crouch at our door or do we open the door and let it in?

I am really glad you joined me today...please join in with me for tomorrow's reading of Genesis 5:1-32

blessings to you today...

Genesis 3:1-24

Good morning and welcome back...Today we read through Genesis 3:1-24. We learned about the tree of life and we learned that Eve was deceived by a serpent. We learned how crafty and tricky this serpent was and how Eve was tricked into eating from the tree that the Lord commanded her not to. We also learned that there are severe consequences for disobeying the Lord. All three had sinned. Eve, Adam, and the Serpent...and all three were punished severely. Adam and Eve also realized they were naked and were ashamed. The Lord made them garments of skins and clothed them He also could no longer trust them not to eat from the tree of life and sent them out of the garden. He put up cherubim and flaming swords in all 4 directions to guard the way to tree of life.

This is all getting interesting now...Please join me in tomorrow's reading of Genesis 4:1-26 We will be learning about Cain and Abel.
I hope you have many blessings on your travels today...

Genesis 2:1-25

The Garden of Eden...

Welcome back...So today we read Genesis 2:1-25 We learned about the rest the Lord took on the seventh day and how holy it is. We also learned about the Garden of Eden and how beautiful it was with rivers flowing from it and it's source of life. We are also introduced to Eve...made from Adam "bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh" and "she shall be called woman because she was taken from man" and that's why "man shall leave his mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh". We also learned that Adam and Eve were naked and not ashamed. As we move on to tomorrow's reading...here is a thought. Do you keep the Sabbath day and keep it holy?

I hope you continue on with me as we read Genesis 3:1-24 I am so delighted you came.

day 1 Genesis 1: 1-31

Welcome...you made it through your first day...Good for you...It's time! Today we read through Genesis 1 and we learned about how the world came to be...In the beginning God created. The first four books of the bible are known as the "Torah" or "The Law" of the bible the word "Torah" does not mean "The Law" but "Teaching." As we read on we will learn about our world and how it came to be as well as how the Lord rested after creating for 6 days. We will also be introduced to Adam and Eve and start learning about the "law" and how his Word lays down a foundation...a building block, as you will, for us to follow.
Please join me again in my reading for tomorrow...Genesis 2:1-25
Until Then...May you have many Blessings in your journey today.

A place to begin...

I have decided to read through the bible again...only this time I am going to take my time...I am going to stop and research...I am going to take it slow and really listen to what God has to show me...

These are the resource books I will be using..."Strong's "(a gift from my sister...thank you) I will be glancing at "Utmost for his Highest" and two versions of the bible..."New King James version" and the New American Standard version." I am not a pastor nor do I protest to be...I am just a wife and mother who is making a connection with God daily.
I will only be reading 1 a day...so if you are following along with me this could take a while.
I encourage you, if you are going to join in...to have your bible and a tablet and pen handy as you read each day...To keep track of what you learned and what you were thinking as you left off.
Remember this is your bible study...My hope is to incourage you to keep going and the rest is up to Our Lord and Savior to do the rest.
Tomorrow I will be reading Genesis 1 verses 1-31...
hope to see you then.
