Genesis 39:1-23

Hello again and welcome...Today we read Genesis 39:1-23

Today we learned about what happened to Joseph.

1Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from the Ishmaelites, who had taken him down there.
2The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.
3Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and how the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge.

If you have not read today's reading about Joseph you can do it here...

So the wife of the master lusted after Joseph..but Joseph refused her...so she made it seem as though she had been with her and the master was told.

20So Joseph's master took him and put him into the jail, the place where the king's prisoners were confined; and he was there in the jail.
21But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.

The verses today were a perfect example of how the Lord is all knowing...although Joseph was set up and imprisoned he was still protected by the Lord and the jail keeper found favor in Joseph.

As we continue on with the story we will learn how the Lord's favor was in deed on Joseph and how his past dream comes true just as the Lord had told him.

Please continue on with me as we read Genesis 40:1-23
