Genesis 11:1-32

Hello again and welcome back...I do not do my own bible reading on Sunday so I may focus on what the my Pastor would have me study. So Today we read Genesis 11:1-32

Today we learned that the Earth was of one language. We learned that they decided to make a tower that "reached the heavens" and they burned brick to make stone and used tar for morter.

We learned that the Lord came down to see the city and tower and said
"Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do."

So he confused their speech so they could not understand each other and scattered them all over the earth. 9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

We also learned about the generations of Shem. From Shem down to 29And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
32And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

Can you imagine how strange it must have been to all of a sudden not been able to understand the person your standing next to...This is a perfect example of how the Lord works...He is Lord...We will not override him at any turn...He made it so they could not bind together and do what they wanted...He made it so they could not do just "anything" they wanted...He does have a plan for us all...Why do we fight the process?

Please join me in tomorrow's reading Genesis 12:1-20
