Genesis 13:1-18

Hello again. I am so glad you are still with me. If you are new here just jump in. Today we read Genesis 13:1-18

Today we learned that Abram, his wife and Lot went up from Egypt to Negev. We learned that Abram was rich in livestock and silver and gold. He went back to where his tent was in the beginning...a place between Bethel and Ai. He returned to a place where he had built an alter to the Lord.

Now Lot had flocks and herds and tents. But their possessions were great and they were no longer able to stay together. So Abram, not wanting to disagree any longer asked Lot to separate from him. He did.

So Lot chose for himself all the valley of the Jordan, and Lot journeyed eastward. Thus they separated from each other.

The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward;
15for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.

Then Abram moved his tent and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the LORD.

So Lot and Abram separated and Lot ended up where evil was but Abram waited on the Lord for direction and he gave it to him...(hmmmm) is he trying to show us something? Do we wait on the Lord for answers or do we just go our own way?

please join me in tomorrow's reading... Genesis 14:1-24 (God's promise to Abram)
